In 2026 (July 12-17), we will be hosting the 2026 World Congress on
Genetics Applied to Livestock Production in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, in
collaboration with the American Society of Animal Science, which will have
its annual meeting at the same location the week thereafter.

In 2026 (July 12-17), we will be hosting the 2026 World Congress on
Genetics Applied to Livestock Production in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, in
collaboration with the American Society of Animal Science, which will have

Here’s the general schedule for WCGALP 2026.
Information on registration and submission of papers will be released on
the website in August 2025 but to give everyone a heads-up, heres the
anticipated timeline for registration and submission of abstracts and of
the accompanying 4-page papers that are standard for WCGALP.
* Mid-November 2025: deadline for submission of ABSTRACTS authors will
be notified of acceptance/revision by Mid-December 2025
* Mid-January 2026: revised abstracts due
* Late-January 2026: deadline for submission of 4-page PAPERS (abstracts
for which no 4-page paper is received will be removed)
* January 31, 2026: deadline for early registration (abstracts without
registration will be removed)
* Mid-March 2026: revised 4-page papers due
* Late-March 2026: authors with accepted abstracts and papers notified
whether their presentation is oral/pitch+poster/poster only
* June 15, 2026: deadline for regular registration
In addition to invited talks, WCGALP 2026 will offer opportunities for
contributed papers to be presented as oral presentations (12 minutes) and
posters (electronic), with the option to pitch your poster during one of
the scientific sessions.
Similar to previous WCGALPs, each participant can only present one
abstract/paper, excluding invited presentations.
International visitors are encouraged to start their visa application
process early. Upon request, we will be able to issue visa letters of
attendance as soon as registration has been received, and of participation
(as presenter) by early February 2026, upon acceptance of the 4-page paper.
We will follow the standard policy of ASAS to refund of 90% of meeting
registration fees (excluding ticketed events) if cancellation is received
in writing by May 31, 2026.

or after the WCGALP, some meeting rooms are available at nearby hotels
